Firewalls have existed in Web2 for over 30 years, but the first generation of Web3 firewalls are emerging to block exploits transactions and other malicious activity onchain. This session will briefly look at the history of firewalls in Web2, discuss how they are being applied in Web3, and how they are likely to evolve over the next 1-3 years in the context of ai adoption, based rollups, and chain abstraction.
