Welcome to ETHDenver! We're thrilled to have you join us! This FAQ should answer most of your questions, but if you need further assistance, please see the general FAQ here, or submit a support request here.

General Information:
When and where is ETHDenver taking place?

ETHDenver will be held at the National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado. BUIDLWeek begins on Sunday, February 23rd and the main show will run from Thursday, February 27th to Sunday, March 2nd.

What are the event hours?

The event hours are as follows:

  • BUIDLHub:
    • 2/23-2/26: 9am-10pm
    • 2/27: 9am-10pm
    • 2/28: 9am-24hrs
    • 3/1: 24hrs-9pm
    • 3/2: 9am-12pm (noon)
  • Spork Castle (Main Event)
    • 2/27-3/1: 9am-6pm
    • 3/2: 9am-3pm

At the Event:
Where do I check in?

Registration will be located in the main lobby of the BUIDLHub, which is held in the National Western Events Center.

Will food and beverages be available?

Yes. The venue has various concession stands throughout both buildings and we bring in a few food trucks to expand the selection and provide options for those with dietary restrictions. Outside food and drinks are strictly prohibited.

Is there Wi-Fi available?

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi, Powered by EigenLayer, will be available in both buildings

Are there designated workspaces for BUIDLers?

Yes, dedicated hackathon spaces will be available throughout the BUIDLHub along with a few small areas within the Spork Castle.

Is there first aid available at the event?

Yes, first aid services will be available at the north lobby entrance. Please ask a security guard to be directed to the first aid area.

Is there a Lost and Found?

Lost and found items are handled by our security team. During BUIDLweek, lost and found items will be kept near registration in the BUIDLHub lobby. During the main event weekend, lost and found items will be kept at the security desk, which is located in the south lobby of the main building.

Rules & Regulations:

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, we've established the following rules and regulations. Please read them carefully before your visit. By entering the event grounds, you agree to abide by these guidelines.

General Policies:
What is the purpose of these rules and regulations?

These rules are in place to prioritize the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all attendees, staff, and volunteers. They also help us maintain the venue and ensure a positive experience for everyone.

Who is responsible for enforcing these rules?

Event staff, security personnel, and volunteers are authorized to enforce these rules and regulations. Please cooperate with them.

Can these rules be changed?

Event organizers reserve the right to modify these rules and regulations at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on the official event website and may not be announced.

Prohibited Items:
What items are prohibited at the event?

For the safety and security of all attendees, the following items are strictly prohibited:

  • Firearms and ammunition (including concealed carry permits)
  • Weapons of any kind (knives, pepper spray, tasers, etc.)
  • Illegal substances
  • Explosives and fireworks
  • Flammable liquids and materials
  • Outside food and beverages (see exceptions below)
  • Glass containers
  • Professional cameras and recording equipment (unless authorized by event organizers)
  • Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
  • Laser pointers
  • Stickers, flyers, and other promotional materials (unless authorized by event organizers)
  • Animals (except for ADA-recognized service animals - see below)
  • Any other items deemed dangerous or disruptive by event security
Are there any exceptions to the outside food and beverage rule?

Exceptions may be made for:

  • Baby food and formula
  • Medically necessary food and beverages (with proper documentation)
What happens if I bring a prohibited item to the event?

Prohibited items will be confiscated and may not be returned. Attendees who refuse to comply with this policy may be denied entry or removed from the event.

Are bags allowed?

Yes, bags are allowed. They are not required to be clear. All bags will be searched and inspected by K9 units upon entry.

Animals:
Are animals allowed at the event?

Only ADA-recognized service animals are permitted. Emotional support animals, therapy animals, and pets are not allowed.

What is the policy for service animals?

Service animals must be under the control of their handler at all times and must be leashed or harnessed unless it interferes with the animal's work. Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their service animal. Misrepresentation of a service animal is strictly prohibited and is grounds for removal from the show.

Conduct:
What conduct is expected of attendees?

We expect all attendees to conduct themselves in a respectful and orderly manner. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to:

  • Public intoxication
  • Fighting or physical altercations
  • Verbal abuse or harassment
  • Theft or vandalism
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Failure to follow instructions from event staff
  • Trespassing in restricted areas will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event without refund.
What is the policy on solicitation and distribution of materials?

Unauthorized solicitation, distribution of flyers, and vending are prohibited.

Safety & Security:
What security measures are in place?

We employ various security measures to ensure the safety of our attendees, including bag checks, metal detectors, K9 units, and uniformed and plainclothes security personnel.

What should I do if I see something suspicious?

If you see something suspicious or have any safety concerns, please report it immediately to the event staff or security personnel.

Other:
Is smoking allowed at the event?

Smoking is not allowed inside the event or within 15 feet of the building.

Can I take photos and videos?

Personal photos and videos are generally permitted. However, professional recording and filming require prior authorization from the conference organizers. Please be respectful of speakers and other attendees.
