Users are becoming more sophisticated and staking is becoming both increasingly important and competitive. On the other side of this, users are still left with suboptimal UX throughout the space. Moreover, rates in both traditional macro and within crypto are beginning to compress. My talk will examine the optimization of staking infrastructure to increase block rewards and redistribute a portion of this boosted yield through emerging primitives, including autonomous agents, intent networks, and chain abstraction. Ultimately, advancements within the staking stack such as propriety schedulers will enable nodes to service more traffic and as a result, generate more block rewards. Users can therefore enjoy the same staking experience as their current vanilla staking counterparts, but utilize the additional yield for other purposes. These extra rewards can then be permissioned for other purposes, beyond the traditional staking reward, which often results in simply just the autocompounding of the staked collateral. Using some of the emerging pieces of technology mentioned above, users now have the opportunity to not only optimize their staked capital, but to deploy it for other purposes. New applications can be developed, such as an onchain rebalancer which can automatically direct staking rewards tom other strategies (e.g. long ETH), perform instant swaps (e.g. ETH to USDC) or trade with other user agents (e.g negotiate ETH for BTC). These new primitives, therefore, can effectively function as an onchain hedge fund, enabling users to apply their rewards to other purposes beyond simple auto-compounding that is the standard within vanilla staking.
